We saw something that became usual in the past few years in the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers were once again eliminated in the first stage of the playoffs, and after a strong start of the season, the Clippers just blew out as the end of the year got nearer. They lost against Utah Jazz at their Staples Center 104-91 and lost the whole series 4-3, despite having the home court advantage in Game 7. We mentioned here before that although they were the higher seed, Utah Jazz where are the favorites for us in this matchup, and indeed after exciting seven games, they proved our claim. Following several years of wandering at the bottom of the Western Conference, they build up a decent team which will be only stronger as the years go by. They were dominant throughout the whole match last night, and at one point of the game, they even had 21 point lead. Everything that Clippers managed to do was to cut the deficit to 8, some 3 minutes before the end of the game.
Gordon Hayward was the leader of the Jazzers with 26 points while Derrick Favours had 17, along with 11 rebounds.
Among the Clippers, DeAndre Jordan had 24 points while Jamal Crawford was backing him up with 20.
Paul Pierce, one of the greatest players in the history of NBA, appeared for the last time, and played his final game. The Truth's 19-year career has come to an end, and we have to salute to this unique guy.
The club in which he became the trademark of the NBA, paid their respects to him, by beating the Washington Wizards in the first match of the semifinals of the Eastern Conference 123-111. This game was marked with yet another fantastic display of Isaiah Thomas greatness. In the 7th minute of the first quarter, he lost several teeth, after he smashed into Otto Porter's elbow. Thomas immediately came back on the court and had an amazing performance, dropping 33 points along with nine assists.
The match was very exciting because the visitors had a 5 point lead at the break. Boston got the advantage for the first time in the game, during the middle of third quarter. Since that moment, they took control of the game and eventually put down a significant victory. As usual among the Washington Wizards John Wall and Bradley Beal were the leading stars. Wall have 20 points and 16 rebounds, Beal 27 points.
The playoffs will continue tonight as the Cleveland Cavaliers are hosting the Toronto Raptors, and San Antonio Spurs are playing against Houston Rockets in Texas derby in one of the most exciting matchups in the semifinals. Do not miss this games, because they guarantee a good time and some fantastic moves. Be sure that your time will be well spent with tonight's NBA schedule.
