It has been a long day with a lot of games last day. There were few games from the international selection and one of them was quite amazing. France faced Paraguay in a game from the friendly selection as the game took part in Rennes as France destroyed the away team with 5-0 and this was the less they could concede here.
The big hero was Olivier Giroud who scored a hat trick and with these three goals he managed to write down his name in the history of the France national team. The game started with a surprise as Paraguay did not show that they are the weaker team. But the first goal was scored in the sixth minute and it looked like that everything is done. Second goal by Giroud was scored in the thirteenth minute and Paraguay just could not handle them. Third goal was scored by Giroud in the 69th minute with which everything finished here. The other two goals was scored for less than 2 minutes as in the 76th minute Moussa Sissoko scored a goal for 4-0 and a minute later Antoine Griezmann scored for 5-0.
France are preparing for their qualification cycle as they are in a group with Luxembourg, Belarus, Bulgaria, Netherlands and Sweden. At the moment they are on the first place and they are almost sure that they will finish on this place but as you know there are two very serious teams in this group – Sweden and Netherlands. If they eventually lose those games the drama will be full and nothing will be so sure for them. Actually, the first game after those friendlies will be against Sweden. The game will be played in Stockholm on 9th of June. It will be interesting and very tough as Sweden are one of the favorites in the group for taking the second place, after Netherlands did not manage to win the game against Bulgaria away from home in March.
Bulgaria is also in the fight for a place on the World Cup but they are poor and not that stable and we do not expect them to make something. France chances are pretty good and with 2 wins against the direct opponents – Sweden and Netherlands they will guarantee the first place in the group no matter what they are going to do against Belarus and Bulgaria. France proved that they are one of the best teams right now in the world but it will be extremely hard when they are playing against the stronger teams from Europe and Americas.
